Birmingham, MI – Coach Eric Spencer’s Frankel Jewish Academy Jaguars put up a strong fight against powerhouse Brother Rice on Thursday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club, ultimately falling just short in a tight 159-167 contest.

Junior Aaron Schuchman led the way for the Jags with an impressive round of 37, highlighted by five pars and a birdie, showcasing his poise and precision under pressure. Senior Eli Rosenzweig followed closely behind with a 39, continuing his consistent play. Sophomore Kobi Schmeltz added a 44, while senior Zachary Elbinger rounded out the scoring with a 47.

Despite the narrow loss, the Jaguars showed they can hang with some of the top teams in the Catholic High School League.

Next up, FJA turns its attention to the CHSL Championships on Monday at the historic Flint Golf Club, where they hope to carry this momentum into a strong postseason showing.

Tam-O-Shanter Country Club – In a tightly contested battle on the links, the Frankel Jewish Academy Jaguars came up just short against Catholic High School League rival Everest Collegiate, falling 178-163 on Monday afternoon.

The Jaguars were led by Robbie Feldman, who carded a solid round of 40. Feldman showed consistency throughout his round, navigating the tricky layout of Tam-O-Shanter with confidence and poise. Eli Rosenzweig followed closely behind with a score of 43, providing another strong showing for FJA in the top half of the lineup.

Despite their efforts, Everest Collegiate's depth proved to be the difference, as their team posted a well-rounded scorecard to secure the 15-stroke victory.

The Jags won’t have long to dwell on the result. They return to action Tuesday as they take on perennial CHSL powerhouse Brother Rice at Lincoln Hills Golf Course in Birmingham. It will be another tough test, but FJA hopes to bounce back quickly and continue building momentum as the season unfolds.

The Frankel Jewish Academy men’s golf team earned a decisive victory on Wednesday, defeating Our Lady of the Lakes by a team stroke score of 164-209 at Fountains Golf Course in Clarkston.

Leading the way for the Jaguars was junior Robbie Feldman, who turned in an impressive round of 38. Senior Eli Rosenzweig and junior Aaron Schuchman both contributed solid scores of 41, while sophomore Kobi Schmeltz rounded out the top four with a 44.

The team’s consistent play across the board helped secure the 45-stroke win and continues their strong start to the season.

The Jaguars return to action on Monday, May 5th, when they travel to St. Clair Golf Club to face the Cardinals of Cardinal Mooney.
