Updated on 05/09/2025
The Frankel Jewish Academy Jaguars women's soccer team secured their first victory of the season in dominant fashion, defeating the Detroit Cristo Rey Wolves 8-0 on Thursday afternoon.
Junior Tamar Fischman led the offensive charge with a hat trick, showcasing her scoring touch and relentless energy in the attacking third. Sophomore Olivia Keller added two goals of her own. At the same time, sophomore Elyse Fleishman, junior Jessica Tracht, and senior Naomi Kahan each found the back of the net to round out the Jaguars’ scoring.
On the defensive end, sophomore goalkeeper Michelle Ifraimov delivered a standout performance with a clean sheet, anchoring a disciplined and focused back line.
“It was a great team effort and a well-deserved result,” head coach Erikson Cela said after the win.
The Jaguars will look to build on their momentum when they return home Tuesday to host Austin Catholic in Catholic High School League (CHSL) play.

Frankel Jags Fall to Red-Hot Cabrini
Posted on 05/01/2025
Allen Park, MI — The Frankel Jewish Academy Jaguars ran into a buzzsaw Thursday evening as they dropped an 8-0 decision to a surging St. Francis Cabrini squad on the road. With the victory, Cabrini extended its winning streak to six games.
The Monarchs jumped out early and never looked back, building a 4-0 lead by halftime with a balanced and aggressive attack. But despite the lopsided final score, there were bright spots for the Jags—most notably the play of sophomore goalkeeper Michelle Ifraimov.
“She had good positioning and had a few key saves in the first half,” said Jags head coach Erikson Cela. “She continues to grow in confidence and has been a steady presence for us in net.”
While the loss leaves Frankel still searching for its first win of the season, Coach Cela remains upbeat and focused on development. The Jaguars will have a chance to bounce back next week with two home matchups—first against Austin Catholic on Tuesday, May 6th, and then against Detroit Cristo Rey on Thursday, May 8th.
